Who is Blue Geisha? The Supernatural Samurai Horror Comic You Need to Read

Born from the corpse of a legendary female samurai on a blood-soaked battlefield, Blue Geisha is not quite human and not quite demon. She’s something far more dangerous — and she’s the star of one of the most visually striking adults-only horror comics being published today.

The Character

Blue Geisha is a blue-skinned assassin moving through feudal Japan during the chaos of the Sengoku era — a world of warlords, demons, and men who mistake beauty for weakness. Written by Justin Gray with art by Branko Jovanovic, the series blends samurai cinema, supernatural horror, dark fantasy, and adult pulp into what the creative team calls “a violent fever dream.” Sword fights. Gore. Seduction. Demons. Revenge. Decapitations. Snow-covered castles. Ancient evil.

The Series

Blue Geisha runs five issues deep, each expanding the supernatural mythology of the series. Issue #1 introduces the character and her brutal world. By issue #3 she’s uncovering the truth about her own bloodline and facing a seductive yokai who may know more than she’s letting on. By issue #5 she’s crossed into Kakuriyo — the Hidden World of spirits, demons, and forgotten gods. The series is ongoing and each issue escalates the stakes.

Who It’s For

If you love samurai films, Lone Wolf and Cub, Princess Mononoke, Usagi Yojimbo, or dark fantasy horror with genuine edge, Blue Geisha was made for you. It’s adults-only (18+) and pulls no punches on violence, horror, or mature content.

Where to Start

All five issues are available as digital downloads from Bleeding Pulp — start with issue #1 and read straight through. Bleeding Pulp also publishes Voltessa, Lady Redbeard, and I Eat Monsters for readers who want more adults-only indie horror.
